Monday Musings: Practices, Simple and Profound

Gerber daisy, Garden Arts, New Smyrna Beach, Florida
Smile, breathe and go slowly.
— Thich Nhat Hanh
I can't think of a better mantra for this week — or life. These three simple, but profound, practices seem to me a pathway for being present and awake to life.
I feel more peaceful just reading these words.

Listening to a song that excites me or makes me move is a great way for me to be present and focus on nothing else.
In the morning: Making my cafe au lait. In the evening: Washing my face. In between: Deep breaths.
Simple practices: defending my right (everyone's right) to feeling stillness and serenity no matter where our now finds us...from the moment I am conscious in the a.m. and throughout the day I take moments to defend this...I pray a lot using "right now"...and affirming what is going on...it helps me feel and ebb and flow to the universal law of harmony when so much to physical sense testimony cries inharmony.
The image of this flower spoke much to me....I've not ever been one to savor daisies..yet why? look at the simplistic beauty of her center...thank you for sharing this and for offering up a simple sweet quote to adorn the image with. Grateful you are home:)
